CV Youth Leadership Council (YLC)

Are you interested in government? Volunteering? Making a real difference in your community? Want to grow your leadership skills and see how change actually happens?

CV YLC is joining Youth Action 50, a citywide program where teams of young people across all five boroughs take on real problems and pitch real solutions to real city agencies.

How it Works

  1. Apply to join our YLC.

  2. As a team, pick an issue you care about. YLC meetings are weekly from November 2026-May 2027.

  3. Get matched with an NYC city agency working on the same issue and receive guidance & mentorship.

  4. Design a service project to address the need.

  5. In May 2027: present your project at the Youth Action 50 Summit in front of city agency leadership.

What you get out of it

  • A chance to serve your neighborhood

  • Shape and help lead our CV Fridays program

  • Direct access to city agency staff on the issue you care about
